Dominican surfers competed at the World Surfing Games host in Biarritz France

Pedro Fernández and Víctor Rosario both surfers from the Dominican Republic were participating at the ISA World Surfing Games host at Grande Plage in the city of Biarritz, France from the 23-29 of May. Traveling as an incomplete team, because the rest of the DR group members had difficulties by getting the Schengen Visa on time, they did a great job in the tournament even with the cold tempeture and crazy tides propers of Grande Plage.

Fernández, originally from Santo Domingo, live between Cabarete and California, he could pass couple of repercharge with nice scores against some of the best surfers around the world. On the other hand Rosario, Originally from Cabarete didn´t have much luck using his priority to choose a better wave at the last minute, but he also had a great performance. Within the next days of competition, the dominican surfer Julio Betances from Bahoruco who lives in lottusse FR join the crew and support them during competitions hours, him and his wife Melina brought a lot of joy to our goofy footer surfers.

This year the ISAWSG was considered the greatest and biggest of all time, there where almost 50 countries attended. All this to start creating a formal atmosphere for the future Olympic Cycle of surf. The rest of the DR team members left in Quisqueya were: Junior Gómez from Río San Juan, Brian Padilla from Las Terrenas, Jesmarín Puente and Saori.

The trip in general was sposored by the Dominican Surfing Federation FEDOSURF, Dominican Olympic Committee and the Sport Ministry of DR.
